Qatar’s Strongest Man 2017: Flashback

The 5th edition of Qatar’s Strongest Man 2017 was held at Aspire Park over two days last November, in the presence of more than 5000 spectators. The challenging event was running under the sponsorship of Sports Corner. This collaboration with Qatar’s outstanding sports apparel and equipment outlet is now entering its third year.
Day One saw the win of the Kenyan participant and defending champion, Cristopher Oketch, in the open category. His fellow countryman, Joseph Iroo Ekadeli, and Egyptian Mohammed Dweidar came in second and third respectively. Luckily, the Kenyan Ambassador to Qatar, HE Mr. Galma Mukhe Boru, was in presence as an extra honor for the champions.
Day Two saw the victory of Abdulaziz Al Kuwari, upon his competition debut, in the Qatari category. 2014 winner, Talal Al Kuwari, came in second, followed by Hadi Ali Al Marri.
Where Sports Corner was the exclusive presenting partner of the event, vouchers through their Al Jude Rewards program were given as prizes to the audience.
Commenting on this sponsorship, Mr. Abdulla Alkhater, Events Manager at Aspire Logistics, said: “We are proud of this ongoing cooperation with Sports Corner. It’s one of the most popular sports outlets in Qatar, and it’s been three years now in our unity for the love and support of sports”.
